FLETC Federal Law Enforcement Training Center for over 80 Federal Agencies

   

 

Federal Law Enforcement/Homeland Security

The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) serves as an interagency law enforcement training organization for more than 80 Federal agencies.

The Center is headquartered at Glynco, GA. In addition to Glynco, the FLETC operates two other residential training sites in Artesia, NM, and Charleston, SC.

These centers provide training and services to state, local, and international law enforcement agencies ( including campus, and tribal law enforcement agencies), and provides distance education opportunities in areas where programs being taught do not require specialized facilities, such as simulation.

Flagship basic training programs 

  • Criminal Investigator Training Program – for special agents from 50+ agencies
  • Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP) for uniformed officers
  • Land Management Police Training (LMPT) for land management agencies

Their Student Educational Employment Program (SEEP) offers Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP) and the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP). These programs are available to all levels of students: high school, vocational and technical, associate degree, baccalaureate degree, graduate degree, and professional degree students. 

State and Local

The FLETC College Intern program provides a unique opportunity for college students majoring in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field of study from across the country, to participate in a Federal Law Enforcement training environment. Each year, three intern sessions lasting twelve (12) weeks, are conducted at the FLETC, exposing selected interns to world-class training, broadening their horizons and helping to develop a foundation for a career in federal law enforcement.

Rural Policing Institute

FLETC develops and delivers tuition-free, specialized, and advanced training to small town, county, campus, and tribal law enforcement officers, and to other emergency responders in rural areas throughout the United States. Tuition is free for qualified applicants.

Homeland Security

The Office of State and Local Training (OSL), FLETC, Department of Homeland Security programs are delivered with the assistance and support of federal, state, local and private agencies to those who protect the homeland.
